Prospero Planning have assisted the Vale of Glamorgan many times over more than ten years, providing resource and expertise to help during periods of pressure due to factors such as staff absence and application influx.
Most recently, we joined the team following the departure of a senior planner which coincided with an increase in application submissions and backlogs due to Covid.
We took on a senior planner role and worked remotely as part of the team, picking up a case load of planning applications and pre-application enquiries.
We carried out every aspect of the role, just as a permanent staff member would do, working directly with agents, applicants and consultees to process the applications and provide advice.
Thanks to our involvement, applications kept moving through the system and, most importantly, relieved some of the pressure on staff in the team at a busy and difficult time.
“The Vale of Glamorgan Council has used Prospero Planning to assist with the Development Management Team’s workload on several occasions, most recently in 2020/21. Prospero handled a range of planning applications and pre-application enquiries on behalf of the Council, including a number of major development proposals. They were a welcome addition to the team during an extremely busy time and helped to relieve the work pressures of the department. They provided invaluable input to the team as a whole and gave extra help and advice to other team members whenever opportunities arose. Prospero understands what is required and has the skills and knowledge needed to work in a Local Planning Authority context. Feedback from customers and others involved in the Development Management Process is always positive and I would not hesitate to use their services again or recommend them to other Local Planning Authorities.”
